Terms of service
Effective 2026-05-17.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of CitedRank(the “Service”), operated from this website at https://citedrank.co. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
CitedRank is a free web toolkit for analyzing publicly accessible web pages — sitemap discovery, content extraction, on-page SEO and GEO auditing, design system extraction, and structured-field scraping. The Service is currently operated by independent developers and offered without charge during its public preview.
2. Your account
Most tools work without an account. Where an account is required (for example, to retrieve an API token), authentication is performed via Google Sign-In. You are responsible for safeguarding your token and for any activity performed using it. Notify us at hello@citedrank.co if you suspect unauthorized use.
3. Acceptable use
By using the Service, you agree NOT to:
- Use the Service to crawl, scrape, or extract data from any website in a manner that violates that site’s Terms of Service, robots.txt, or applicable law (including copyright, the U.S. Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the EU Database Directive, and equivalent statutes in your jurisdiction).
- Re-publish, distribute, or commercially exploit data extracted through the Service in a way that infringes the rights of the original publisher.
- Attempt to bypass our rate limits, authentication, or other technical access controls; abuse the Service to overwhelm third-party websites; or use the Service to attack, harass, or defame any person or entity.
- Use the Service to collect personal data of European, UK, California, or other regulated data subjects without a lawful basis under applicable privacy law.
- Reverse-engineer the Service except to the extent expressly permitted by mandatory law.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access at our sole discretion, particularly for behavior that risks harm to other users, third parties, or the Service itself.
4. Intellectual property
The Service’s code, UI, branding, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. Content you submit (e.g., URLs) remains your responsibility. Output produced by the Service (extracted Markdown, JSON, screenshots, sitemaps) is provided to you under a permissive license for your internal use; however, the underlying content belongs to the original publishers and you must comply with their terms when reusing it.
5. Third-party content and websites
The Service operates on publicly accessible third-party websites at your direction. We do not endorse, control, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or legality of content extracted from third parties. You are responsible for confirming that your use of any extracted content respects the original publisher’s rights.
6. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, or non-infringement. Extracted data may be incomplete, stale, or inaccurate; you should not rely on the Service for time-critical or legally-sensitive decisions without independent verification.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) USD 100 or (b) the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, during the free preview, is zero).
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, including any breach of these Terms or any third party’s rights.
9. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify the Service, suspend features, or update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective” date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may terminate or suspend access immediately for breach of these Terms or for any legitimate operational reason. Provisions intended to survive termination (including Sections 4, 6, 7, 8, 11) will continue in effect.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction. If you are an EU or UK consumer, you retain the benefit of mandatory protections of your local law.
